It's been awhile

I have not posted in awhile. I can only blame facebook. It has taken me away from the blogging world! July has been busy for us! Mom had her knee replacement surgery and is recovering at home with us. We have really enjoyed having her. Maddie LOVES her Memaw being in the next bedroom!
Maddie continues with summer dance and looks forward to starting the next competition season in August. We are really enjoying our summer together!! I love being a teacher and spending my days with my sweet girl. The only problem is she is growing up way too fast! I went to see NKOTB with my friends and had a blast!! We had a girls' night out at the Waterway Marriott. Here are some pics Elizabeth sent me. I still need to download mine off of my camera.

The new school year is right around the corner. Maddie is very excited about 1st grade!

Future Politician??

After Maddie's dance competition in Austin, we decided to take her to the State Capital Building. I really wanted to go, but I was afraid that my six-year-old would be quite bored. We decided to go on a tour, since we had no idea what we were looking at. The tour guide made Maddie her little helper and Maddie LOVED it!! She was following her around everywhere!

Maddie and Mom outside the Capital.

Maddie and her Daddy-I don't think he enjoyed it as much as I did! :)

Of course I made her take a picture in front of everything...such a tourist!

The day we went there was the final day for the House and Senate to be in session. This was the day they had to agree on the bills. The lady said they would be there late into the night! I thought this was very cool to be there on the final day...I think I was the only one in my family that was impressed! Maybe I am the one that wants to be a politician!
