1st Day of Kindergarten!!

Can you believe it??? Maddie Grace in Kindergarten?
Well when her teacher took all the students to her classroom at Meet the Teacher on Friday, Maddie was a little unsure. She shed a few tears and wanted to stay in the cafeteria with Mom and Dad. She always wants to be with the adults. I think she is afraid she is going to miss something good! Once she walked to the classroom, she immediately loved it!
She could not leave me fast enough! I did not even need to walk her to her classroom. She sat down in the cafeteria with some friends and said, "That's enough pictures mom. Bye. I love you." She loves school, loves her teacher, but not a big fan of recess! She does not like the fact that the Kindergartners can't use the big recess equipment. Life is so unfair at the age of 5! I love being able to see her at school during the day. When I took my students to PE, she was in the cafeteria practicing lunch routines. She thought it was pretty cool to see Mom in the hall. After school, we went to dinner with Dad to celebrate our first day. She wanted to get banana pudding. She definitely deserved it after her first big day!
Good morning big girl!

Breakfast in Mom and Dad's bed.

Welcome to Kindergarten at Ault Elementary!

A delicious ending to a great day!

What a week!

We have been really busy this week! I, of course, started school this week. It is a very busy week for a teacher! It is also a fun time, being back at work with my "school friends." I even got to see some of my old school friends. (Congrats on your sweet baby girl Corrie!) Maddie has also been very busy this week. She started her new year at dance. She had hip-hop class on Tuesday-which she LOVED! Today was an overwhelming day for her. She had ballet, jazz and acrobatics. We were at dance class for 2 hours and 15 minutes! It is a long time, but she enjoys every minute of it. Today was also her last day at her beloved Ms. EJ's house. Ms. EJ has kept Maddie since she was 8 months old! She has been nothing but a blessing to our family! We have worked many days and have never had a doubt that our only child was being cared for as if we were doing it ourselves! We love you Ms. EJ!
Tomorrow Maddie will meet her Kindergarten teacher for the 1st time. I don't have to tell you how excited she is! Royce is taking the day off for a little daddy-daughter date...so sweet! Maddie is so ready to start school. Mom was a little hesitant at first, but I am very excited for her to begin this new stage of her life! I will post pics from her big day soon!

Community of Faith

We love our church! It is so uplifting to start the new week off there as a family. We were reminded today through worship and prayer that God is always with us!
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God..."

Maddie learned a wonderful bible verse.
Maddie says, "Do what God's teaching says; don't be lazy."
This is what James 1:22 actually says-
"Do what God's teaching says; do not just listen and do nothing."
So funny how kids interpret things!

Mohawk/Kindergarten Time!

I scared you, didn't I Rucker? No, we are not giving our girl a mohawk to start school with!Maddie really enjoyed giving her Dad a mohawk. Isn't it sweet what a Daddy will do to make his little girl happy? Maddie really thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen! We are on the countdown for our baby to start Kindergarten-3 weeks and counting! She is VERY excited and VERY ready! Mom on the other hand is a little sad to see her sweet girl growing up!! I keep asking her to stop getting bigger, but she always informs me that she just can't help it.
